The Hofmann Building, as well as a number of other buildings on the north side of the Square, has a decorative tile entry with the name of the store worked into the tile design. These decorative touches often provide valuable information about the history of the building. This building formerly housed Hofmann Dry Goods Company that was in continuous operation for more than 100 years.
